Here’s another video that I did yesterday with one of my donkey friends who I’ve named Balthazar, after Robert Bresson’s masterpiece AU HASARD BALTHAZAR which I just watched once again. One of the most deeply moving films ever done, by a rare, cinematic genius. Balthazar is a four legged version of Jesus Christ, with all sorts of abuse heaped upon him.
I’ll probably head back up to Beatty to be with them since most humans are nothing but feces with vertebrae. I’ll make sure to stock up on apples and carrots before I do.
BLM has classified donkeys as ‘nuisance’ animals. One def was a nuisance when he raided my trunk and ran off with some rice cakes. He even ate the cellophane.
It was great hearing from the few of you who care. Picked up my spirits a bit during these down times.
Best,
Jaye B.
